KEEP YOUR KITCHEN HEALTHY

Make your kitchen a healthy environment. Apply hygienic practice so that you are protected from sickness due to contamination. Mostly, the germs are coming from the kitchen where kitchen chores made daily.

Before preparing your food or eating your meals do the washing of your hands. Use germicidal soap or powders in washing your plates, cups, saucers and utensils. Sanitize your dining table during the preparation of your meals. Give much attention to your chopping board. Contamination usually comes from this chopping board and other related medium used during the activities in the kitchen like knives and can openers. The most advisable washing combination is to use a hot soapy water and 1 tablespoon of chlorine bleach mixed with one gallon of water.

Give attention to your kitchen rags and towels. It easily harbors the disease-causing germs. Include it in your sanitation process.

Don’t let your kitchen rags wet at all times. Don’t leave it there at the side of the kitchen sink. Most of the germs can penetrate in wet environment. Sanitize with chlorine and keep it dry.

When you buy fresh fruits and vegetables, buy them in supermarket. Most of this outlets are doing cleaning under sanitary practice not to expose to flies and other unsanitary handling compared to what was sold in the public wet market.

Most important of all is your drinking water. If you are using private water system, to be additionally safe, use filtration cap direct to the faucet  to filter any microscopic debris and particles in the water. If the cost is manageable, you can use handy filtration system that connects to your faucet. Drink water directly to the faucet of the filtration system, safe and fresh.

Be sure your glass is clean. Put separately away from your kitchen so that it can not easily contaminated with germs and other disease- causing bacteria during your kitchen activities. Check the glass if it is not cloudy, oily, with foul odor or have visible debris at the bottom of the glass. Clean everything, sanitize it to kill all the microbes.

Another way to ensure the safety of your drinking water is to boil it before you use, about 15-20 minutes to kill any organisms in the water.

FASTFOODS, JUNKFOODS

You all know that the food we ate today is no longer a healthful food. We are lazy to prepare our own foods at home. We choose eating in fast food store because it is the easiest way to eat without any effort compared to preparing the food in the kitchen. What we only need is money, then presto, you are full. But what it takes you?

Many of us have elevated cholesterol. We ate oily foods and other cholesterol-rich food,  fried chicken,  fried legs,  ribs or any other fried items.

When can we be more sensible in taking foods healthful to us? When can we learn our lesson seeing others rushed to the hospital because their cholesterol already over the required level of safety. Why wait being there?

Vegetables fights disease. It is a healthy food. Our body needed it as part of the daily requirements of vitamins and minerals. By eating this kind of food it can correct any of our vitamin deficiency.  But some of us are taking against it.

Look those people in the rural areas or those living in the mountain. Fruits and vegetables were mostly their kinds of food. No need to buy in the market, its free and available in their own backyard. They were very resourceful by planting vegetables in their garden sustaining them. They only bought fish, salted fish and other basic goods. When it comes to fruits, they were around their house. If harvest season come, they sells the extra to the market. But look at their health, they were mostly slim but strong. Many of them reached the age to almost 100, while those  living in the urban areas cannot match their feat of living longer. Their kind of food was different from ours. They were full of energy working from morning till noon. That’s the difference.

If we can change our ways of eating food that gives benefits to our body, we expect that we are far from getting sick and live longer. We have one life. We have to protect it. This is our only chance. Happy vegetable eating!
