SAFETY RULES FOR SIMPLE HOME REPAIR

-Wear appropriate clothing. Long sleeves, shirts, exposed shirt tails, ties, or any loose clothing can get caught in tools while at work. Leather shoes should be worn instead of sneakers, to give your feet protection from falling objects.

-Keep tools clean and in good working condition. Keep tool handles free of oil or moisture. Sharp edges should be kept sharp and handle tight. Make sure that drill bits are installed properly before use and are removed and kept properly after use.

- Keep tools in place when not in use. Tools should be kept with sharp edges turned away from your reach.

-Make sure proper grounding of power tools is provided, especially when you are working in damp areas.

-Tools should be turned off before replacing any parts.

-Always do your repairing in a place that is well-ventilated.

-Wear gloves. This will protect you from possible electrocution when working with electric powered tool machines. It will also protect your hands from dirt, grease and other oily materials that may cause hand gripping problems.

-When working on surfaces with power tooks, make sure they are properly anchored.
