These are so because they are thought to keep the meat tender. And to make the cows feel serene, they are sung to. These pampering make the Kobe beef world famous with its 160-ounce, one inch-thick steaks costing more than a hundred dollars.
ANIMAL OFF-LOTION
When scientists saw monkeys in Venezuela rubbing millipedes all over their bodies, they wondered why. Analysis of the millipede secretions showed they contained insecticides and disinfectants, which keep bugs and parasites off from the monkeys.
COUNTLESS NUMBERING
If you count at a rate of one second per number, you will need 12 days to count to a million, 32 years to count to a billion, and 32,000 years to count to a trillion.
HEAVENLY FERRIS WHEEL
Compared to the other planets, Uranus is spinning its side. Viewed from Earth, the planet’s ring go around vertically like a Ferris wheel, instead of horizontally like a merry-go-round.
LOST WALLET
David Derber of Appleton, Wisconsin, lost his wallet when he went for a swim in Lake Winnebago in east central Wisconsin. A year later was returned to him by a man living in Oshkosh, which is near the lake. Everything was still in it – Derber’s photos and hundreds of dollar.
SILVER VS. GERMS
Ancient Egyptian used silver to keep food from spoiling while Phoenicians used it to keep water germ-free. Today, modern science has proven that silver ions have antibiotic properties.
SNEEZE THE BLESSINGS
Have you ever wondered why people often congratulate someone who sneezed? It actually started during the great plague of Europe when the Pope passed a law to say “God Bless You” to someone who sneezed. It was thought that people who sneezed were expelling evil from their bodies.
SUN
The total energy of the sun emits in a single second would be sufficient to keep a one-kilowatt electric fire burning for 10,000 million years. The energy of the sun emits in one second is greater than the whole amount of energy the human species has consumed through its entire history.
STARS
Taking estimate, the grand total of all the stars that are visible has a staggering sum of 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or more. There is a real possibility that the universe extends far beyond the limits of present astronomical observation.
SUPERNOVA
A supernova is a huge thermal energy. His radiation is very intense that the visible light coming from exploding stars is almost as bright as that which comes from an entire galaxy of 100 billion ordinary stars.
BLACK HOLE
The black hole is thought to be more than four miles in diameter, or roughly a third as large as neutron stars. It is like a giant celestial vacuum cleaner. It absorbs everything in its vicinity.
FEATHER
The feather of the bird is a marvel of natural engineering. It is extremely light and structurally strong, much more versatile than the rigid structure of an aircraft wings and can readily repaired or replaced when damaged.
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Because of the increased oxygen supply and greater capacity for heat regulation required by their high body temperature, birds have evolved a respiratory system that is perhaps more highly developed than any other group of animals.
ARCHER FISH
The archer wide-eyed eyes is so remarkably more complex than those of most fish. He is equipped with binocular vision. While his eyes are on the sides of his head, he can swivel them sufficiently to see one image in front, or above. He can shoot jet of water to insect above the ground to reach for food.
ANABLEPS
The anableps are amazing creatures on earth, having 4 eyes. He spent most of his life swimming along the surface of water with two of his eyes above the surface and two below.
